About 60 governmental and non-governmental
organisations gathered at the national conference 'Motherhood is Precious;
let’s make it Safe' to share success stories and best practices on
reproductive health (RH). The meeting, conducted by the Ethiopian
Consortium of Reproductive Health Associations (CORHA), resulted in
collaborated efforts to address RH. The conference was opened by state
officials, who had requested the attendants to revitalize 'motherhood' in
every program. As part of the conference, panel discussions on family
planning and maternal health were conducted.

DSW Ethiopia is the secretariat and coordinating organisation of a loose network of 12 grantees working under a project in Ethiopia funded by the Packard Foundation. One of the network’s key activities was to conduct geographical mappings. The major component of this study consists of the identification of various geographical locations of projects, types of services rendered, and challenges encountered. Moreover, it offers recommendations that can be used as a starting point for further intervention. The final draft of this study was presented on a workshop, which was opened by the Country Advisor of the Packard Foundation and the Deputy Country Director of DSW. The presentation resulted in fruitful discussions on the study and new perspectives and approaches of adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) among participants.
